An evergreen conifer with graceful form. In the wild it can reach 200 feet, grown indoors as a container plant it is kept to 6-7 feet tall. Needs a cool location, about 65F in summer, 41-50F in the winter. Likes rhododendron food. Can be maintained as a house plant anywhere. Grows superbly in containers. If placed in a corner, it will grow crookedly. In summer it is best placed outdoors. Makes a wonderful lawn or park tree. Leaves are green and up to 1/2 inches long. Female cones are about 4 inches long, male cones are 1 1/2 to 3 inches and cylindrical.
